TYPES OF
HAZARD/
EXPOSURE
ACUTE HAZARDS/
SYMPTOMS
PREVENTION FIRST AID/
FIRE FIGHTING
FIRE Combustible. Gives off irritating or toxic fumes (or gases) in a fire.
NO open flames.
Powder, water spray, foam, carbon dioxide.
EXPLOSION Above 74░C explosive vapour/air mixtures may be formed.
Above 74░C closed system, ventilation.

EXPOSURE
PREVENT GENERATION OF MISTS!

  • INHALATION
  • Shortness of breath.
Ventilation, local exhaust, or breathing protection.
Fresh air, rest. Half-upright position. Artificial respiration if indicated, and refer for medical attention.
  • SKIN
  • Redness. Pain.
    Protective gloves, protective clothing.
Remove contaminated clothes. Rinse skin with plenty of water or shower, and refer for medical attention.
  • EYES
  • Redness, pain.
Face shield, or eye protection in combination with breathing protection.
First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then take to a doctor.
  • INGESTION

  • Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work.
Rinse mouth, and refer for medical attention.
SPILLAGE DISPOSAL STORAGE PACKAGING & LABELLING
Collect leaking and spilled liquid in sealable containers as far as possible. Absorb remaining liquid in sand or inert absorbent and remove to safe place.
Separated from oxidants, metals, food and feedstuffs. Keep in a well-ventilated room.
Do not transport with food and feedstuffs.

    PHYSICAL STATE; APPEARANCE:
COLOURLESS LIQUID , WITH CHARACTERISTIC ODOUR.

    CHEMICAL DANGERS:
The substance decomposes on heating producing toxic gases of sulfur oxides. Reacts with oxidants and metals.

    OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS (OELs):
    TLV not established.
    MAK not established.

    ROUTES OF EXPOSURE:
The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation of its vapour, through the skin and by ingestion.

    INHALATION RISK:
No indication can be given about the rate in which a harmful concentration in the air is reached on evaporation of this substance at 20░C.

    EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE:
The substance irritates the eyes, the skin, and the respiratory tract. The substance may cause effects on central nervous system.
